The Memory Cafe meets fortnightly to provide social contact for
those living with any form of dementia or memory impairment and also
their carers.The meetings begin with
tea and cakes, creating an opportunity for people to meet and chat
together.
We then usually break into two groups:
those living with dementia take part in different activities eg.
crafts, games, music, with volunteers to help.
The carers have their own session in a separate room, led by a
professional or the Chair of the Memory Cafe. Here they can gain
peer support for the different situations they may be facing.
The whole group goes on outings several
times a year. |
